Who am I?
My name is Emily Edmonds, and I’m a performing artist and creative by profession. I am an opera singer, with a background in theatre. I’m also passionate about directing, collaborating, and being a part of creating new work.
I’m constantly redefining for myself what it means to be a creative, and part of an artistic community; I believe we all have a part to play in forging the artistic landscape that we most want to be a part of.
Why did i start a podcast?
I know firsthand the trials and tribulations of being a creative: the unforeseen challenges, the knowledge gaps, the relentless hustle, the longing for community and connected conversation.
I’ve created this podcast so that as a community of creatives, we can have the conversations that need to be had, be a part of a meaningful community, and empower ourselves to feel in control when it comes to our lives as creatives.
Here’s to building meaningful community, conversation, and change.
Why a PODCAST, specifically?
I wanted really good-quality information and conversation to be accessible to as many creatives as possible. No matter where you are in the world, what stage you’re at, or what resources you have available to you right now, you can tune in for some art-enriching chat, via our site or via your favourite podcast app.
What will we chat about?
In Season 1, I chat to a whole bunch of experts / colleagues about topics including: vocal health, wellness, parenting as a freelancer, freelancer finances, procrastination, performance mindset, conflict, and self-promotion.
I’m recording Season 2 at the moment - it’s due to drop later in 2020. Season 2 is shaping up to include eps on: Nutrition for freelancers, time management, values and boundaries, communication tools, addiction, positive psychology, writing a show, and heaps more.
Can’t wait to share this juicy information with you all.
